Announcement "JSAT Appointed President of Makino Seiki (Daisuke Shimizu) as New President"

JSAT has appointed Daisuke Shimizu, President of Makino Seiki Co.,Ltd., as president at the Ordinary General Meeting held on March 9th 2023, in place of Dr. Junichi Ikeno (Professor of Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saitama University) upon the expiration of his term of office.

Outline of the Society

JSAT was originally founded as incorporated association in 1995, as the result of the merger of Japan Society of Grinding Engineers and Kansai Society of Grinding Engineers (both established in 1957), and certified as public interest incorporated association in 2010.
The purpose and project are to promote the advancement and dissemination of abrasive technology and thereby contribute to academic progress in Japan, by presenting theory and its application on abrasive technology, by exchanging information, and by collaborating with related academic societies in Japan and overseas. As a unique characteristics of this society, the relationship of trust between academia and industry has been solid, therefore the president has been appointed alternately from academia and industry every two years.
There are approximately 800 regular members, 150 student members, and more than 150 supporting memebers (mainly companies).
